Instructions

  • Start by soaking the raw almonds in water for at least 30 minutes, or up to two hours. For the creamiest texture, you can even soak them overnight. Drain the almonds before using.
  • Add the drained almonds, frozen or fresh blackberries, oat milk, and banana to a blender.
  • Blend on full power for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until completely smooth and creamy.
  • Pour this pretty purple smoothie into two glasses. Serve immediately while it’s fresh and chilled from the frozen blackberries. For a fun finish, top with a few extra berries, a sprinkle of crushed almonds, or even a drizzle of maple syrup.

Notes & Suggestions

Notes:
The recipe card template shows both prep time and cook time. For this smoothie, the prep time refers to soaking the almonds (at least 30 minutes or longer for creaminess).
The cook time simply means the time it takes to blend everything together, which is less than a minute.
The 17 grams of sugar is naturally occurring from the fruit
Top Tips
  • Using frozen blackberries makes this smoothie naturally chilled without needing to add ice cubes.
  • If you like it sweeter, add a drizzle of maple syrup or your sweetener of choice.
  • Drink it straight after blending for the best refreshing texture. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator and drink within two days.
